Increases 48% in 2012

Barley growers in Washington produced 12.6 million bushels in 2012, 48 percent above 2011. Acreage harvested, at 175,000 acres, was up 52 percent from last year while the average yield of 72 bushels per acre was 2 bushels below 2011.
