Governor makes face masks available to wheat farmers

L&I releases COVID-19 training kit

The Governor’s office has made 2,000 face masks available to wheat farmers and their employees across the state in order to comply with the new COVID-19 guidance as it relates to agriculture.  That guidance requires all farm employees not working alone on the jobsite to wear cloth facial coverings. The cloth facial coverings must be supplied by the farmer at no cost to the employee.

If any WAWG members are interested in obtaining face masks for themselves and their employees, they can reach out directly to Bre Elsey at the Washington State Farm Bureau.  Her email is Belsey@wsfb.com. The Farm Bureau will ship the face masks directly to any wheat farmer that makes a request subject to availability.

RelatedL&I has posted a new Spanish and English version of the Agriculture COVID-19 Employee Training Kit to help workers learn more about worker safety and health and the prevention of this disease. The kit outlines the minimum training requirements required for employers in this industry.  It is posted at https://lni.wa.gov/safety-health/safety-training-materials/training-kits#AgCOVID19
