There were 6.8 days suitable for fieldwork in Washington, unchanged from last week. Washington had temperatures ideal for fieldwork, with little moisture received last week.
Yakima County had air quality issues due to wildfire smoke. Gala apple harvest continued, and Granny Smith and Honeycrisp varieties also went into packing houses. Vegetable stands were bursting with produce, including green beans, sweet corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, zucchini, summer squashes, winter squashes, and melons. Hop harvest continued. Several mint, alfalfa, and timothy hay cuttings were sighted throughout central Washington.
In northeast Washington, pastures were getting dry, and rain was needed. Winter wheat planting was underway and going well. East central Washington had winter wheat fields starting to emerge and looked uniform. Southeast Washington had a dry week.
