Western Washington received some rain, and crops were still growing well. Yakima County experienced overcast conditions that contributed to a small amount of rain. Apple harvest continued with midseason varieties like Gala, Granny Smith, and Honeycrisp entering the packinghouses. Farmer’s markets sold local produce, including pumpkins, green beans, sweet corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, squashes, and melons. Hop harvest was also underway.
In northeast Washington, the weather was cool, and still no measurable rainfall. Pasture was running out, and fall seeded crops were beginning to emerge.
East central and southeast Washington saw some precipitation and cooler temperatures.
