Wheat farmers invited to offer input on WSU presidential search

WSU-LogoMESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHAIR

There is no greater responsibility for the Washington State University Board of Regents than selecting and retaining the best possible presidential leadership. It is an honor for me to invite and welcome your participation.

As we begin the process to engage WSU’s 11th president, we have an opportunity to focus—together—on our major accomplishments over the past decade: completion of a $1 billion capital campaign, record enrollments and diversity of our students, unparalleled growth in our research reach and impact, authorization to build a community based medical school, and numerous others. We also will have the opportunity to articulate—together—our vision and hopes for WSU in the future.

Our goal is to ensure this search is well informed and that the many segments of the WSU community—faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends, and other stakeholders—have an opportunity to share their views on the characteristics of our next leader. To that end, we will be scheduling seven listening sessions throughout our state: in Pullman, at our campuses in Spokane, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, WSU North Puget Sound in Everett, in Seattle, and in Bellevue. Details of these events will be publicized as soon as the logistics are finalized. We have also included a feedback mechanism here to collect your ideas and comments.

Washington State University is poised to begin an exciting new era. Thank you in advance for your willingness to engage and participate in finding our next, best President.

Go Cougs!
