Compliance with highly erodible land (HELC) and wetland conservation (WC) provisions are a requirement for participation in Farm Service Agency (FSA) and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs. FSA will be hosting a webinar to assist current and potential customers with understanding their responsibilities regarding highly erodible land and wetland conservation. This webinar will also provide insight into the process of how FSA and NRCS determine what land is considered highly erodible or a wetland.

FSA does not have a single deadline by which producers must provide HELC and WC information. Instead, the deadline is determined by the programs in which the producer is participating. NRCS also requires that HELC and WC information be up to date and on file with FSA to complete applications for NRCS programs.
